I think I might have a problem......

Since I am on the TV bit, I think I might have a problem with TV. I think I am addicted! Well, wait, I know I am addicted. That's the first step right, admitting it?? I am currently taking a class/tutor sessions to help me take the GRE to get in to graduate school (Colly, I carry your awesome 90210 bag you gave me to class). It is eight weeks long and there is tons of studying and homework to do. I am very devoted or maybe obsessive it really depends on who you speak to, so I study a lot. However, I do plan my study time around my TV shows. This probably wouldn't be a problem if I didn't watch so many shows. Here's the rundown.....

One Tree Hill (one of my favorites)
90210 (if you know me this is not a surprise)
Dancing with the Stars
Entourage
Brothers & Sisters
Lipstick Jungle
Grey's Anatomy
The Office
Private Practice
The Cleaner
Intervention
The Hills
Real World/Road Rules Challenge
Not counting the One Tree Hill and Beverly Hills 90210 re-runs on the Soap Net that I tape everyday.

So, even though I think I have a problem, I can't do anything about it. I just thought about this last night as I was watching the new 90210 and "taking a break" from studying.

My life is closer to complete

Ashley and I got home from a long weekend with my family in Arkansas last night (pictures and stories from this trip to come later this week) and I turned on the TV before I went to bed and lo and behold we now have the E! channel. You can't imagine how exciting this is for me!!!! Joel McHale was speaking to me (The Soup was on)!! If Comporium has done one good thing during their existence in their monopolizing rein as the only cable company in York County, it is getting E!. More to come later, I just had to let everyone in on the joy in my life. I am pretty easy if you can't tell!

Birthday Frenzy!

The month of August in the Morgan family is a birthday frenzy!! We have four birthdays, Ashley, Savannah, Amy, and Uncle Reb. The normal thing to do for a birthday is a dinner at the restaurant of your choice. Since there were so many, we decided to have dinner in (we like to save money) at Skip's house. Even though it wasn't my birthday, we did eat my favorite meal.....low country boil with shrimp and we spiced it up with some crab claws!!!! For those of you who know me, you know I love to eat and I was in Heaven!!!! When it was presents time, it looked more like Christmas in August. Check it out!

This may not look like a ton of gifts, but let me tell you it was. There were even gifts on the floor.

All the birthday people and Jackson squeezed in

We are big on birthdays in this family. Each person had their own cake/cupcakes to blow out candles. The green cake stand is this really obnoxious stand that spins, lights up and sings happy birthday all at once. I found it in some of my mother-in-law's old things and made it a tradition that every birthday we have to use it. It has become a huge joke that everyone loves!!!

Birthday frenzy is over until it hits in my side of the family in April, we have 5 then. Stay tuned......

Are you ready for some football??!!

Ashley and I recently went to a Panthers pre-season game with our good friends John and Elizabeth. We had an absolute blast tailgating before the game, playing corn hole, and cooking burgers! The game was excellent, the Panthers won!!! Here a few pictures......

Elizabeth and I tailgating

John and Ashley, don't they look sweet and masculine?

This van came through our parking area. It was playing music through some speakers on the outside of the van. All the players had autographed it. There was just an older married couple driving it around to all the parking lots, pretty funny.

I was really very proud of myself for this picture. This was taken from our seats.

Happy Birthday Ashley!!!!

My wonderful husband's birthday was on August 10th. We kicked off his birthday weekend on a Thursday night by having dinner with our friends John and Elizabeth. On that Friday afternoon, our friend Miros and his girlfriend, Whitney, came into town from Greenville. We had a night out on the lake with them, John and Elizabeth, and Chap and Heather. We grilled out on the boat and had an awesome time! On Saturday, Ashley and Miros and a few other friends played in a golf tournament. (Are you getting the hint that he got to do exactly what he wanted all weekend? Aren't I a good wife?) Then on Saturday night was the party! We had a cookout and some friends over to our house. I think everyone had a great time! I know the birthday boy thoroughly enjoyed himself! I had Ashley's best friend Joe make him a birthday shirt that he had to wear all night. It was hilarious!!!

After the cookout at our house, we went to the bar to see Chap play. I have few photos from there, but as you can see I was really consumed with taking pictures of some of my friends and me. I always have good intentions of taking tons of really good pictures and then I just never do.

So, as you can see, I didn't really take any pictures of the actual party. Sometimes I forget I have a camera. I promise to work on that!

I am a slack blogger......

I know I really struggle at keeping up with my blog. Let me explain a little so I don't seem so terrible........my laptop is older and most of the time a piece of junk. I got a new camera (Thank You Heather!!!) for Christmas that I needed and love! I had to remove the old program that took the pictures off my old camera and install the new program for the new camera. Well, lo and behold, my computer doesn't have enough RAM and I don't know what to do with it. I know I need to take it to someone, but I am scared because I know it will cost plenty of money. Also, my computer is older and more RAM is more expensive for older computers. I am cheap!! So.........I have to get my pictures off my camera by going CVS, Wal-Mart, Rite Aid, etc. and have them put on a CD. So, I like to build up quite a few pictures to put on the CD if I am going to pay $3 for it. I know, it sounds complicated and it sounds like a bunch of excuses and it kind of is. New post coming over the weekend. PROMISE!!!!!

Oh and if anyone has any suggestions about the computer issue, help a sister out!!!

Livin' it up in the AC

Okay, so I know I am horrible at keeping up with my blog, but I do my best. I have computer/camera issues that I haven't gotten fixed yet. On to better things......

I recently spent a few days in Atlantic City with my mom. She was there for a conference and I was there to keep her company and spend her money. It was a great trip for me!! Neither of us had ever been to Atlantic City, but I can imagine it is like a mini Vegas (although we have never been there either). There are two really cools things about Atlantic City. First thing, the Miss America Pageant was held there for years and they are very proud of it. Second thing, the properties in the game Monopoly were all named after streets in Atlantic City, i.e. Baltic Ave, Boardwalk, Park Place, Atlantic Ave, you get the idea. There best things about the AC were tons of shopping and eating, which we definitely took advantage of, and then there was gambling. Being non-gamblers that we are, we each put a $5 bill in a nickle slot machine and won nada. The precise reason why we don't gamble, but we were told by Ashley that it would be a sin to come home without gambling at all.
We stayed at the Sheraton and I would definitely recommend that to anyone. For one, it is not a casino, so it didn't have all the commotion. And also it is on Miss America Way and I just thought that was pretty cool. Yes, I had to be a tourist and have my picture made with the road sign. Yes, a car had to wait on me to cross the road and then they watched and laughed as I posed for the picture. My motto......they don't know me and I will never see them again.

Mom and I definitely did plenty of shopping. We could walk out of our hotel and be right on Michigan Avenue, which is pretty much 3 blocks wide and long of stores. They were all right at our fingertips.

We went and scoped out a few of the casinos and took a few tourist pictures. My favorite was Caesar's because they have this huge pier that is called The Pier Shops at Caesar's (how clever). It is three stories tall and on the bottom floor on the end they have a huge water and light show every hour on the hour. We thought this might be a bust, but I have never seen anything like it. It was really great! On the third floor are restaurants. We ventured to two of them, The Continental and Buddahkhan (I can't spell), where we had crazy good food. The highlights were lobster macaroni and cheese and edamame ravioli. It was all wonderful!!

On our last night in the AC, we went and ate at Bobby Flay Steak. For those of you who don't know, Bobby Flay is a chef on the Food Network and is on two of my favorite shows.....Throwdown with Bobby Flay and Iron Chef America. Well I can't tell you enough how awesome this steak was!!!! We ate until we couldn't eat anymore and then we had to get back to our hotel which wasn't fun, but we made the sacrifice.

Here is mom paying our bill at Bobby Flay Steak...she's so proud!

Acting like a tourist again.....

Lastly, in our hotel was the Shoe Bar. The Shoe Bar was named after all the shoes from Miss America Pageant Parades. There is a parade during the week of the pageant and it was initially just a parade, but some of the contestants were not wearing shoes. I guess the officials didn't like that and required them to wear shoes, but to make it more interesting each contestant had to decorate their shoe and the parade was the time to show it off. Well, here is the shoe of Miss South Carolina 1994. Although it may look tacky, it was much nicer than some of the others.

Well, I have more pictures of the boardwalk and different casinos, but I hate to bore you anymore.
