New beginnings

Last week was a big one for new beginnings.  The much anticipated arrival of my twin nieces finally arrived!  Jamison Dearing and Logan Byars Morgan entered the world on Jan 19, 2011 at 3:28 and 3:30 pm, respectively.  Jamison is our little diva weighing in at 6 lbs. 4 oz.  Logan weighing in at 6 lbs. 14 oz. should be her dad's twin, not Jamison's.  These little girls are the most perfect, beautiful little things!!  I can't get enough of them.  They are loved so much and by so many people.  I am now a proud aunt of 4!!!  Couldn't be happier about being able to spoil 2 more!!

In other new beginning news, my parents sold their house after several years of trying!  This, my friends, is a huge deal.  I am from a very small town (population 600) and for someone to buy a house there.......well it's unheard of.  They are turning things around fast and have already found a house in a city about 30 minutes away (where I went to college) and will close on both homes in February.  Although, it will be sad to see them leave the house they built over 30 years ago and my childhood home, I will be excited for their new start and I know my mom is excited for a new palette to decorate!

Pics of the twins coming soon. I haven't had time to get them off of my camera, but promise I will share them.

Paparazzi

Santa (aka my sweet mother) was really good to me this year and brought me a new camera!

Since Christmas Day, I have become the paparazzi.  My friends, family and especially the husband are over my new fascination.  However, I am really enjoying my new toy.

None of these are by any means great.  Who am I kidding?  They really aren't even good, but for me...............well I'm proud of myself.

One day when I actually finish school and have time for hobbies...............this, along with returning to scrap booking,  is number one on the list.

A few more fun ones.

Random

Does anyone else have a really crazy obsession with Dog the Bounty Hunter?

I am obsessed with the show and everyone in it!  I have even read both of Dog's autobiographies.  Yea, I know you're shocked that he has written two books.......not that I have read both of them.  I actually read the second book in one day because I was so enthralled.  I really want to carry a can of mace and go bounty hunt with Dog and his family.  Just sayin'

Apologies

A really good friend of mine told me yesterday that I was a little harsh with my last post.  She's right I was. However, I am pretty sure that she is the only one that even reads this poor excuse for a blog.  K, I promise to be a little sweeter from now on.

Only thankful on Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday!!!  It is the one day of the year that most families get together and enjoy each others company..........I said "most" I understand that not all families are that way. I also understand that most people think about Christmas in the same way.  I am one of those, but more times than not Christmas is unfortunately more about the presents than the reason we celebrate the holiday.  Don't get me wrong, I too get caught up in the presents myself.  For those of you that know me, when it comes to a present I act like a 2 year old.  I digress.  That is entirely different post.

Back to the matter at hand........the only problem is most people are only "thankful" for friends, family and things they have been blessed with on the day of Thanksgiving.  Why can't we all be thankful on a daily basis??  If you are thankful on a daily basis, then you are living right and commend you.  I know it is definitely hard for me to do sometimes.......if not most of time.  I guess this really came to my attention when doing a little Facebook surfing over the holiday weekend, I love a good Facebook stalking session.  Most all of the status updates on Thanksgiving were how thankful one was on this day............again I said "most".  However, on most other days of the year a status update is normally some random thought, telling us what they are doing or most commonly a complaint.  I am not excluding myself from this group (Facebook status update, yes, but being not being thankful everyday, no).  However, I am trying to turn over a new leaf and be a little more appreciative and thankful for the blessings in my life.

Again, I digress.

Reality Check

I was recently chatting with a few of my fellow classmates (3 girls ages: 22, 23, 23) as school.  We were talking about some of our favorite TV shows and it was brought to my attention that either I watch too much TV or they just don't watch enough TV.  In my own head, I am actually going for option #3........I'm just way cooler than they are.

This may be a shocker, but they didn't know who the Kardashian's were and had NEVER watched any of The Real Housewives (any season).  Lastly, they had never watched or heard of Bethenny Frankel!!!  Mind you this is only a very short list of TV stars they had never heard of or seen.  It took my breath!  Do they live in a hole??  (Yes, I did ask them this).  This is just astonishing to me!  How could this be?  I mean honestly, both of my brother-in-laws (both in the mid-late 30's) know who all of the above and then sooooo much more.  Sad on the B-I-L's part?  No, I say.  Sad on the 22 year old girls part..........she should know better.
