Life's lessons according to ecards

My sister-in-law, J, is forever keeping me entertained sending me those cute little ecards that you see all over pinterest!  Just wanted to share a few with the masses of people that read this tiny jewel of a blog............

 I think everybody has somebody in mind when they read this one.  I know I do and it made me laugh even harder!

Take a hike

Literally.  I did.  And I forgot how much I love hiking and being outdoors.  If you ever have the opportunity to go to Black Mountain, NC, or Montreat, NC, GO!!!  It is gorgeous and so worth the short drive. 

So, go take a hike.  Literally.  I did. 

My week as seen through the camera in my phone

I went for a little visit to Arkansas and this little guy was a good travel partner.

While checking on pinterest, I found this gem.  Who can't relate to this one? Totally not relevant to the Arkansas trip, but I just couldn't pass this up.

As I arrived at my parents, this was the gorgeous sunset from their backyard.  I love this picture!

I went for a run the next morning and who doesn't love 90's rap?? And especially The Fresh Prince!  Love this song!  I had trouble running and dancing at the same time.

I went to work with my brother a few days.  Man, how I missed hanging out with him!  He grows some beautiful rice! I guess you have to you have to know a little about rice farming to appreciate beautiful rice!

My brother farms without a shirt and in shorts and boots.  It's quite a sight to see! He would kill me for taking this picture.

Got to visit with my sweet grandparents.  Geez, not only do I look just like my mother, but my grandmother too!  I never realized it until this picture!  Look at those cheek bones, dimples and noses! 

On my final night we celebrated my grandparent's 58th wedding anniversary!  They have set the bar extremely high and I hope I am able to follow their example.

AHA Moment

"Comfort is the enemy of progress." 

My running group is constantly searching for different ways to cross train and keep in shape.   After a recent workout (more on that later), a girlfriend in our group said "Ladies, we must remember that comfort is the enemy of progress."  Not to sound like Oprah, but I really had an "AHA Moment!!"  Not only does this phrase apply to exercise, but to everything in life.  Something to ponder on today............................

The workout I was referring to was a "30 minute Fat Blaster" or that's what they call it.  I like to call it "30 minutes of pure torture"; however, this girl is not a fan of weights or anything really other than running.  So you can see why I would think this was torture, but when you go with your girlfriends it really helps.  It was totally worth it!  Check out the link, you might like it!

Summertime Tune

I'm totally IN LOVE with this song!!!  It reminds me of summer and my favorite thing.........a boat ride!  And I would die for the fashion in this video........on a boat!  Enjoy!

Nearing the end........

As of today, I am completely finished with classwork for physical therapy school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I get a short break and then start a 3 month clinical this fall and then..............................I graduate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I can't even believe it right!  Many have told me it seems like I just started school; however, I beg to differ.  In order to not think about how long it has been, I made a list of things that I will celebrate/be happy about.


Saving money on gas
No more long drives to Columbia
Free time on the weekends and weeknights
Getting closer to becoming a 2 income family
Not incurring any more debt from the government
Treating patients
Spending more time with my man and friends
Taking a once in a lifetime vacation after graduation
Lastly, but certainly not least...one step closer to becoming a parent!
